Botanicals in Gouache (5 weeks)
Monday, November 6, 2023 to Monday, December 4, 2023, 6-9pm Central
Online class through the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Art & Illustration
Sometimes referred to as opaque watercolor, gouache is an extremely rich, versatile and forgiving medium. It behaves somewhat like both oil paint and watercolor by allowing the artist to layer and blend, but also work in transparent layers. Learn about color mixing, brush work, paint application and layering and experiment with working on a toned background.
Note that this course is an elective in the Botanical Illustration program. Prerequisites must be completed to register. The course fee does not include materials.
